6th Grade (Part 2)

 So growing up my parents were very strict. They were actually the best. But they were strict and they focused on education for all their kids. Me, Uncle Isaac and Uncle Joe. I was always the rascal of course :) 

but anyway they were strict. 

we couldn't watch TV or movies, or play video games, during the week. And remember there were no computers, iPads, iPhones or the internet. so all we could do during the week was play outside if it wasn't cold and then do our home work. 

since we weren't allow to watch movies, I never really saw any movies. Only the ones my parents let us see and ONLY when they were around. 

But I remember it was 6th grade and I had a science class. Well at the end of the year, the teacher didn't have anything for the class to do. So one day he says I have a video we are going to watch that is about science. 

but he didn't put on a video. He put on JURASSIC PARK. 

now remember. I've never seen anything at that point except for "Honey I shrunk the kids" and "Home Alone 1"

And we were never allow to watch anything scary. 

So he put on this movie at first I though it was okay, but then OUT OF NO WHERE a TREX ate a person off the toilet. I SCREAMED, an put my head down on the desk and closed my eyes for the entire rest of the movie. 

That night. and every night after for YEARS I had nightmares. 

To this day I still think about it and have bad dreams sometimes. 

Whenever I have a bad dream I always go find mommy and tell her and she makes me feel better. and helps me sleep. 

Sometimes I worry about you, and the things you see, cause I know kids have bad dreams like I did. and they are too shy to say they are scared, but I just want you to always know that you can come into the room and say "dad I had a bad dream" or "mom I had a bad dream" and we will know exactly what to do. 

Thats why I'm really sensitive about what you see. 

Things you see are really important. you have to really protect yourself from what you allow your eyes to see. There is a lot of craziness in the world and especially on the internet now. You have to be careful. Cause a lot of people are gross. 

If I could teach you one thing it would be this..... Surround yourself with good people. If you surround yourself with good people you go up. If you surround yourself with bad people, you go down.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE.......

back to Jurassic park. so since the 6th grade I was terrified of that movie and I had nightmares. this lasted for years. even when I was grown up. THEN I met your mommy and we got married, and when mommy goes to sleep likes to watch movies. Guess what movie mommy wanted to go to sleep to everyday when we got married. 

you guessed it

JURASSIC PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so everynight when we would go to sleep, she would put it on and I was just shiver under covers. ha ha ha 

once she would go to sleep I would turn it on and put on something funny like Seinfeld.
