Dad Rules for Life

Sit in the front or middle of the airplane. the back sucks. 

when you take off, text your family "taking off" "landed" so we know that you are safe. always keep in good communication. there are always people worrying about you. 

Never ever give your passport to anyone 

when you travel with a passport don't put it in the back pocket of a bag or something that someone could easily unzip and take without you noticing

Don't Do Drugs - doens't matter what it is just don't 

Don't loan your friends money - doesn't matter why they need it. keep your money for you. Dont' get played

People Lie

Do not get pregnant until you are married. that will ruin your life. completely ruin it

Even you close friends will betray you 

Never give out your social security number to anyone on the phone or in an email or on text. and if anyone is asking for that. call me. thats super private. and someone could be trying to steal your identity 

Don't ever take any nudes and have that on anyone else's phone but yours. Once  it’s out there, it’s out there, and you'll never get it back. You cannot trust relationships. 

The relationship your in right now, probably isn't going to last. 

When you travel overseas always tell customs that you are traveling with friends, visiting friends and never say you are traveling for work or business. 

Don't be in a car with anyone when they are drinking - this guy clifford was drunk at prom and he has three girls in the car, and he ran a red light and the three girls all died. Clifford was my friend, he got 20 years in prison 

Dont' ride on the back of a motorcycle

when you get paid save 80% and live off the 20% Try to save as much money as you possibly can. and don't give that to anyone. So if you make $100, save $80 and use $20 to live. You won't always be able to do this but try to save alot. Try not to spend money even though you will want to alot. 

don't even throw the first punch, let someone else do that. cause then you can sue them and they will go to jail. 

Dont ever marry someone without living with them first. You never how someone will be unless you live with them. 

Never be afraid to leave someone cause it’s too hard or cause you think you won’t find anyone else. You will. 

You can always come home. You will always have a place to stay with us. Always 

If you need something and you’re in trouble I’m your first call. 

No matter where I am or what I’m doing, if you need me I’ll be there just call me. And I’ll rip the entire world apart for you

People lie. 

People always lie. 

Don’t lie to your parents. We can handle it. No matter what it’s is. Lie to other people. But never lie to us. 

Say what you think. Say what you feel. Doesn’t matter if it sounds right. Just say it. It’s better than silence. And your voice is powerful. Use it. 

Dont leave your keys in the car at gas stations people try to steal your car. 

Always be on the lookout for creeps they are everywhere. 

The most dangerous person is the world is a white man, be careful. White men are more likely to drug you, try to rape, shoot up a school, shoot up a movie theater. Be careful. Not all white people are bad, but really look for the good ones. Your mom is a good one. They are out there. 

Your life will be harder cause you are black. 

You are pretty. You are stunning. Period. Never forget it.

If you and a white girl are together and someone finds out something is stolen they will blame you cause you are black. 

Use your phone. Record bad situations just like I did with that racist lady. FaceTime people. Call me. I’ll come and set the record straight. 

Me and mom are your biggest fans. No matter what you do. 

You can always come home. 

Do not feel pressured to have sex. Wait. Boys always will want to push you and pressure you. Wait. That’s special. Don’t waste it on morons. 

I only traveled so much to make money and give you mom and champion a life. I never wanted to leave. I just didn’t want you to grow up poor like me. 

Always talk calmly and respectful to cops. They can be assholes but just play the game. Don’t give them a reason for them to do anything weird. A lot of cops are racists and a lot of cops are good. Just control yourself. But know when to stand up for yourself. 

When you get pulled over call me. I’ll tell you what to do. 

Always check on your brother. You aren’t going to understand it now but he will be the only other person besides your parents that will always be on your team. When the entire world is against you it will be him and us that are with you. He’s your brother. 

Look out for the crappy girls that will be around him. Tell him what you think of his girlfriends he needs you in his life. Text him everyday 

People will lie straight to your face.
